What is MMA? MMA or mixed martial arts is a sport in which players fight using techniques drawn from many different martial arts. MMA is a great sporting spectacle, and the presented fights on stage make a great impression on the audience. There is great freedom in the selection of techniques and tricks. MMA uses sports tactics from boxing, wrestling, judo, kickboxing, and ju-jitsu. They practice their techniques in the UFC ring using their MMA and boxing gear. MMA rules: Mixed martial arts, despite the fact that they allow the use of almost any fighting technique, they have certain rules that must be followed. All types of levers, punches, kicks, throws, punches and chokes can be used. All kinds of behavior that directly threaten the players' life are prohibited. It is forbidden to break the joints, hit the intimate places and the spine. Other rules are: Do not use head bumps. Do not put your fingers in the eyes or ears, and bite and kick the opponent person. The one who forces the opponent to surrender or knocks him out wins the fight. If during the fight none of the specified actions occurs, the judges decide on the victory by awarding points. MMA fights are usually organized at large stadiums and take place in rings surrounded by a grid (called cages), which is to protect players from falling out of the ring. Types of Martial Arts: MMA consists of a variety of areas that allow you to defeat the enemy in several ways. This includes:
What are the accessories used for MMA? Gloves: Gloves are of course the most important thing. Remember, however, that these are not boxing gloves, so people who have trained in boxing so far will have to equip themselves with other gloves. Those used in MMA have a completely different structure. Boxing gloves are much larger than those for mixed martial arts and have a rounded construction. What's more, they protect the whole hand, and their design is softer, so light blows are gentle on the opponent. MMA gloves are much harder, thinner and have an open construction - fingers are exposed. The blows inflicted with such gloves are more painful, there is a greater risk of cutting - both the opponent's skin and one's own on the fingers, while greater freedom of hand movement means that we can grab the opponent and throw, choking lever, etc. Boxing tapes: If we already have gloves, it is worth equipping yourself with special boxing straps, which are wrapped in the skin of the hands and wrist, and only then gloves are put on. The tapes not only absorb sweat and stabilize gloves but also stiffen the hand and wrist, reducing the risk of injury. Tibia and foot protectors: Shin guards are another element that avoids injury. As you know, tibial injuries are very painful, and more severe damage can tear you away from training for weeks. It is also worth paying attention to foot protectors, which are used by some players. Jaw protectors: MMA is an extreme contact sport, so it is absolutely necessary to use jaw and tooth protectors. Sometimes, even during sparrings, you can forget or bring a blow to the face of the opponent, which will result in the destruction or damage of several teeth. Clothing: This is a very individual matter and everyone chooses a suit to their own preferences. There are certain rules at competitions, which is why fighting in a full tracksuit may not be allowed. It is worth noting that it was comfortable for us, and the outfit was airy and did not stick to the body.
